Arts Groups Get Supportive Friends Organization

Fallbrook Center for the Arts Group, which oversees five arts-related entities in Fallbrook, is making it easier to enjoy the benefits of becoming an insider in and supporter of Fallbrook's growing arts community. The group has formed Fallbrook Friends of the Arts, which will help support  the Fallbrook Art Center, Fallbrook School of the Arts, Brandon Gallery, Fallbrook Art in Public Places and Fallbrook Arts Alliance.  "It's more than just a fundraiser," said Marlene Rantanen, president of the  Fallbrook Center for the Arts Group. "It gives us a base to work from." Pick from varying levels of membership ranging  from $100 to $1,000. Membership perks include private arts shows, insider access to artists and their studios, art center access, special events and gifts. The group, which will formally kick off the new program May 1, has a first-year goal of raising $10,000, So far $6,000 has been pledged. "I feel good about it," said Rantanen.
